The POWER OF REAL STORIES

AI can’t do this.

AI-generated content is everywhere. It’s quick and efficient, it can streamline the creative process and it can make things look eye-catching.
But there is something we think AI will never replace…

A True Community Collaboration: The Power of Real Stories and Raw Humanity

Here’s a good example from our work.

A few years ago, we had the incredible opportunity to work with RHP, a housing association based in London. To launch their new brand identity they wanted to engage with their community about what they stood for. They wanted a film that resonated with their residents - a piece that felt caring, authentic, human, and deeply connected to the people they serve.

So they commissioned us to come up with a concept and create a visual story with a message.

Instead of sitting in a boardroom we went straight into the heart of the RHP community, asking residents one simple question: What does home mean to you?

No LLM can answer this for the community. This is what it means to be human, with each answer flooding out from memories and experiences lived, not taught. Some responses were abstract, some comical, others deeply personal.

We brought in award-winning writer Anna Beecher to create a poem from these real people’s words, and used that to inspire our film. From there we created a storyboard with RHP, put together a local team, and made the film with some actors and a lot of the local community - real people, in real homes with real emotions.

The result? A brand film that didn’t just “represent” the community - it was the community! This video created a dialogue between the housing association and the people.

This was possible because RHP brought us in early to develop the concept. By thinking outside the box and trusting the creative process, we were able to deliver something effective on a modest budget.

And the impact? The video was incredibly well received and RHP still uses this film regularly to showcase their values, strengthen community ties, and remind people what their work is really about.

Why does this matter?

Because in a world that’s obsessed with AI perfection, real human stories still have the most emotional impact.

Authenticity can’t be automated. Human connection can’t be faked.

That’s why this project worked. That’s why video still matters.

And that’s why AI can’t do this.

Video is more than just visuals. It’s about the stories of people.

Behind the scenes, this project was also a beautiful example of collaboration. Most of the team had worked on our other commercials and short films - the DP, the gaffer, the composer, the art director, and even several of the cast. The result was a tight-knit team, a set family, working together so make something that truly resonated.
